Healthcare Reimagined

Meena Seshamani, MD, PhD, VP of Clinical Care Transformation, Medstar Health

Corey Feldman Season 1 Episode 9

On May 20th I interviewed Dr. Meena Seshamani, who as VP of Clinical Care Transformation at Medstar Health, leads value-based care initiatives across the 10-hospital, 300-outpatient clinic health system. Prior to her work at Medstar, Dr. Seshamani was the Director of the Office of Health Reform at the DOHHS, where she drove strategy and managed the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. We discussed the importance of post-discharge follow-up for low-income COVID patients, and Medstar's coordination between nurses and community health workers to ensure patients have their basic needs addressed and can properly isolate. Dr. Seshamani shared her thoughts on what steps could be taken at a National level to curb the spread of this virus and safely reopen the economy.
