Ruth Krystopolski: Senior VP of Population Health, Atrium Health
Ruth Krystopolski has spent the last 30 years in Healthcare. Over the past 5 years, she has been deeply focused on population health within her present role as the Senior VP of Population Health at Atrium Health, as well as her previous role as the Senior VP of Population Health at CHRISTUS Health. Atrium Health encompasses over 40 hospitals, and 900 post-acute care locations, and Ruth and I spoke about the challenges of serving such a large and heterogeneous population. When drive-through testing sites failed to increase the testing-rate-per-thousand among people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, realizing that many didn't have cars, Atrium repurposed two of it's Wellness-on-Wheels vehicles to drive around these neighborhoods using hot spotting and heat-mapping to identify locations that would maximize the impact of their efforts. We also spoke about shifting care from the Hospital to the home for COVID-positive patients to improve the patient experience and reduce risk to staff.
The Society for HealthCare Innovation is a community of professionals dedicated to improving healthcare through innovation. We are comprised of physicians, nurses, healthcare executives, tech and industry leaders, and many more with a unifying ethos and mission- improving healthcare through innovation.
